We Love You City #WLYC set fit-up @belgradetheatre begins today…
This is the first show in the Belgrade’s B2 auditorium to use the “short-traverse” set up. So first, the usual seating arrangement had to be struck and then the stage crew levelled the auditorium floor. Once that was done the set could come out of the van and into the theatre. Dancefloor down first, then steel frameworks into position, with only a few hiccups…Cast are due to rehearse onstage tomorrow and for the rest of the week, with lighting being rigged and focussed around them. Teching begins next Monday.

Apologies that this is only taken on a mobile phone…
The music (by Derek Nisbet) is being played live by David & Karen from the cast – that’s right – we have 2 pianos as well as a cast of 11 on stage!
The Belgrade has a blog specifically about WE LOVE YOU CITY which you can find at http://weloveyoucity.tumblr.com/
We haven’t won yet, but we haven’t lost yet either. #wlyc
Send me to Coventry by James Bourne kicks off the #fargospace programme at unit 4
Come & explore the paper city between 4 & 7 pm today.
End of first week of #WLYC rehearsals @belgradetheatre – even got a ball in there…
So the pace is set and, after a bit of cat and mouse earlier in the week, the players have settled into their new surroundings. Cook has worked with the team increasing their fitness levels, offering players a chance to showcase their skills.
Unit 4 Install #fargospace
Here’s a couple of pics from my first day of install in the Unit 4 Space. The drawings are done, enlarged, and a paper version of an ideal Coventry is starting to take shape. I will be installing the rest of the work over the weekend, with the show opening at 4pm this coming Bank Holiday Monday.

Read-through. Rehearsals begin for #WLYC @belgradetheatre
Kicked off with the initial meet and greet, cast familiarising themselves ready for the afternoons training. Back in the dressing room Warwick and Walker spoke to the players about building their skills and tactics and developing a plan of action for the weeks ahead.
After a session with the coach, Cook, the team were on top form – only the one injury of the day – but the players are keen to push themselves ready for the big game.
What a cracking start to the season.

We Love You City beermats spotted in Coventry! #WLYC
If you spot one of these rather natty beermats in a Coventry pub, tweet your pic & location to @belgradetheatre with the #WLYC hashtag.
Excellent set build progress: We Love You City @belgradetheatre #wlyc #lovecov
Visited Belgrade Theatre wokshops today and – how exciting? – set is almost built and looking great. Got a brilliant cast and crew lined up, so we’re really looking forward to rehearsals starting on the 23rd August!
If you’d like to find out more about the show, have a look at our website, our Facebook pages or the We Love You City posterous – where (if you are physically and football-y inclined, or even if you aren’t actually) we’re seeking your participation in recreating the infamous Houchen Header…go on, have a go, you know you want to.
